This fragment of a waulking song begins with a couplet which drinks the health of King James.

Item Notes

Three couplets sung. There is a 3-line chorus at the beginning and after each couplet. The song is linked to a story that Clanranald's daughter was banished to Coll. Years later she saw her brother's galley coming to Coll. According to the story, he eventually recognised her when she sang this song to him.
