When schoolchildren played a catching game they stood in a row and said a rhyme to decide who were to be the kings to do the catching.
"Sit, date, palm, Flett, hob, dob, Dick." Dick was out. Followed by: "Eatie, peetie, peeny pie, popallorum, chinkum chie, oot stands du therby."
