Summary
Smoking and blowing bubbles with clay pipes.
Peter Pratt remembers when clay pipes were two a ha'penny. Children would dip them in soapy water and blow bubbles. He never smoked a clay pipe but the old men would buy 'TW' pipes and break them off to shorten the stem. They were called 'nose warmers' and were considered to be just right when blackened with nicotine.
