Summary
The Vanstable shipwrecked with its cargo of whisky.
The Vanstable, carrying a large cargo of whisky and other spirits, was shipwrecked near Haisgeir after a fire. A customs officer, who belonged to Uist, gave the whisky to the local people as long as they were not too greedy. Some of it was buried and never found.
