The contributor recites a rhyme that an old woman once used to heal an injury that she had. She rubbed her chest with a wet hand while saying the rhyme and her condition improved. Murchadh Mòr MacIver would send a charm to people by reciting a verse while tying knots in a piece of thread, cloth or string. The material was tied to the afflicted area. Men could pass the gift of healing to women and vice versa, but it could not be passed to someone of the same sex.
