Summary
A fairy changeling reveals himself to a tailor, who gets rid of him.
A travelling tailor came to a farm and stayed there to make a suit. The family had a bairn [child], Johnny, who was constantly greetin [crying]. One market day the tailor was left at home with Johnny, who stopped crying and played the tailor tunes on a straw. The tailor told the farmer, and the next market day the farmer hid and saw what happened. [Break in tape.] The next time he was alone with Johnny, the tailor put horse manure on a girdle [baking plate] on the swey [hinged arm for hanging pots over an open fire]. Johnny flew away up the chimney and the family's own child was lying in the cradle. Johnny had been a fairy changeling.
