Summary
How a man found out his wife had been ill-treating his mother.
A widow, whose son stayed with her, was ill-treated by the son's wife when they married. One night, the widow stood in the door to look out at the weather. The son asked what the night was like and she said it was a starry night without wind, drought nor rain. He said that was strange, and she replied that it was no stranger than the fat cow that was slaughtered at the beginning of winter being all sinews. He then understood his wife was not feeding her properly.
