Summary

Brother of the Laird of Colonsay making the ferryman sail against his will in bad weather.

The brother of the Laird of Colonsay, who was a soldier, was coming over from Islay in Gilleasba's boat. They were waiting for the storm to subside. The soldier was impatient and said they would have left long ago if there was no inn at Port Askaig. Gilleasba agreed to go, but warned that he would not turn back. Shortly after they set out the soldier pleaded with them to return. The old laird was waiting for them and congratulated Gilleasba for frightening his brother. He knew Gilleasba would not have set sail in such weather if he had not been made to.
