Summary
Two different turf walls marking a disputed Shetland boundary; a saying about Scottish oppression.
There was a turf boundary wall between land owned by the Greigs and the Sinclairs in Nesting. At some point there was a falling out between them and another wall was built about twelve to twenty feet from the first. The foundations of the walls are still [1974] there to be seen; they span the hill from shore to shore. The Greigs eventually lost their land to the Bruces.
Andrew Hunter mentions a saying: "[The only thing Shetland got from Scotland] was dear meal and greedy ministers."
