Summary
In this song, the singer encounters a girl in Glencoe and tries to woo her, only to be told she loves Donald of Glencoe, who went away to war long ago. The singer tries to convince her that Donald has married another woman, but the girl vows to wait for Donald or stay single should he not return. The singer then produces a glove the she gave him as a love-token, revealing himself as Donald returned. She rejoices.
