Summary
This song describes some of the fighting at the Battle of Falkirk as the Jacobites retreated north. It also makes mention of the Jacobite defeat at Culloden and expresses the wish that Prince Charles would return, promising him the loyalty of all his people.
Item Notes
A song attributed to the bard Duncan Bàn MacIntyre, who fought on the Hanoverian side during the Jacobite rebellion of 1745/46. He clearly had Jacobite sympathies however, which are very evident in this song.
