The contributor relates the story behind the tune 'Lament for the Little Supper'. Two chiefs were feuding over a piece of land. They decided to have supper together to discuss the matter. Each had a dozen followers at the supper. One chief told his followers that if things went against him he would give a sign and they were to knife the guest on their right. Everything went well but the chief told his opposite number about the plan and showed him the sign he was going to give. On seeing the sign his men stabbed their opponents.
