William Hunter recounts various words and phrases learned from the many Eskimo families who accompanied the whalers on their northern expeditions. He tells of their summer dwellings and liking for fancy floral handkerchiefs, and also of the decorated sealskin keshies [baskets] that they supplied to the whalers.
