Summary
A seer saw a full-rigged ship coming from the direction of St Kilda towards North Uist.
One autumn Sunday morning, sometime after the seer had seen the vision, a French sailing ship went on the rocks between Monach and the North Uist mainland. The crew of twenty-one people came ashore in two lifeboats. They used the sails to make tents. The ship broke up and the pieces came ashore at Balranald. The contributor was about twelve years old when this happened.
