Summary
A Shetland man stayed on the sea bottom to escape a hail shower.
A man called Tulloch was a good swimmer but never let anyone see him swim, always making an excuse, such as the water being too cold. One morning, on 1st May, he rose to look for lambs. The day was so lovely he thought he would go for a swim. He was no sooner in the sea than a hail shower came on. He dived to the bottom and held onto the tang [seaweed] until the shower was over.
The man died not long before.
