Summary
Demonstration of carding and spinning wool.
The contributor discusses Norwegian wool cards which differ from those made in the UK. They were never made in Shetland. She then demonstrates and describes carding wool. The cards were traditionally oiled with creesh [grease] from seal blubber.
She also demonstrates and describes feeding the wool onto an old spinning-wheel, which was handed down through her family. The spinning-wheel and spinning process are also described.
