Fishing in Arran.
Four hundred men were fishing from Lochranza alone when the contributor's father was young. They followed the herring. They also went to Ireland, fishing mackerel. The contributor describes the fishing boats he remembers. Bigger boats had a crew of six; smaller boats had a crew of four.
