Words by Harry Lauder (1870-1950) and Alex Melville, music by Harry Lauder; released on Edison Gold Moulded Record no. 13741 in 1908 and on Victor Records B-8464, recorded 12th December 1909. The chorus is modelled on that of the song of the same name by Robert Tannahill (1774-1810).
