Summary

A dupe song in which the naïve singer lends a large some of money to his devious lover and her 'brother' (her real lover). She promptly disappears, and years go by before the singer sees her again by chance, this time with three children who look suspiciously like her 'brother'.

Item Notes

5 verses of 8 lines, with a chorus of 4 lines after first verse only. Broadside versions have seven verses; George Fraser's version omits the broadsides' second and third verses.
