Donald MacPherson from Larryvarry, a nephew of Aidan MacPherson, was raging about the land raiders in Skye when everybody was at the moss [i.e. cutting peat], and wanted to gather a band to assist them. At night, a crowd of young lads gathered at his house with a piper and some guns, but his courage had failed, so they let off some shots and dispersed.
