The contributor gives some examples of Travellers' cant. In the old days there was no hostility to tinkers. People in Aberdeenshire liked the tinkers to come round because they did odd jobs and soldering. They are not travelling so much now [1953]. Many are settling down and marrying outside the Traveller community. The contributor knows the Williamsons from Speyside. He has been to the Campbeltown area, where there are also Williamsons.
